To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Jundt Art Museum at Gonzaga presents a special exhibition: Fifty Masterworks from the Print Collection. The display not only features expert print technicians like Gerald Leslie Brockhurst and John Taylor Arms, but also works by important art history giants such as Pablo Picasso, Rembrandt, and Andy Warhol. All of the works on display come from Gonzaga’s permanent collection and include screenprints, etchings, lithographs, and other prints.
The scope of Gonzaga’s collection is astounding and unfortunately not widely publicized; it includes over 4,500 pieces, most of them gifted by former Spokane residents Norman and Esther Bolker. The exhibition features works from the 16th through 21st centuries and includes a wide range of pieces that will appeal to many tastes. As part of the 20th anniversary celebration, the university is publishing an exhibition book that will be revealed to the public at the closing ceremony of the exhibit on April 1st at 10 am. Outside of this special event, the museum is open from 10 am to 4 pm and is always free and open to the public. Take advantage of the free admission and chance to witness some big names in art right here in Spokane.
