How do I add a new section that doesn’t show in my list of courses?

From the the courses screen within your scheduling unit, there is a check box in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, beneath the Filter button that says “Show courses with no sections”. Check this box and all available courses will be revealed.

How do I cancel a section?

There are a couple of options, however it all depends on what phase we are in:

Before the Validatephase – You can delete a created section by using the red X to the Left of the section number. This will delete the section and cannot be undone. This action will not require workflow approval.
After the Validate phase – This action will require workflow approval, and all of the following must be completed:

  • Status = Cancelled
  • Instructor = Staff
  • Room = No Room Assigned
  • Schedule = Does Not Meet
  • Max Capacity = 0
  • Remove any crosslistings (if applicable)

Where can I see the availability of a General Use Classroom?

You can use the 25Live Room Seek feature in CLSS to locate an available General Use Classroom that will meet the needs of your class.

How do I change my assigned room?

Depending on what phase we are in:

Before Bulk Scheduling – Departmental classrooms and labs can be found in their dropdown only
After Bulk scheduling – Departments should use the 25Live Room Seek feature

Instructor Questions

here are two reasons this may be occurring:

Why aren’t the instructors showing on the list of available instructors?
  • New Faculty or Adjunct? Once the new Faculty or Adjunct has been assigned an employee ID Number, you will need to fill out the Adding Instructor to CLSS form
  • The Instructor doesn’t typically teach for the department. If this is the case, you will want to select “More Faculty”, this will allow you to search all EWU employees who are identified as Faculty in Banner.
Why do I select “more faculty” to find my instructor?

If you are constantly having to select more faculty to find the desired instructor, they could be coded to the wrong department. Please reach out to regschedule@ewu.edu get this updated.
