The purpose of the observation is to ensure that each facilitator/tutor is engaging the active/collaborative learning process with competence and effectiveness. Generally speaking, most will be performing splendidly and the purpose of the observation is to identify areas for continued growth. Not all of the boxes below need to be filled in. This page is meant to serve as a notes sheet for the observer to inform any follow-up discussion, rather than a line-by-line agenda. Be thorough and keep the end-goal (of providing helpful feedback) in mind while taking the notes. Not all observations need to be continued through the end of any given session and can be concluded when enough information has been gathered to provide helpful feedback and to address any areas of concern. As session is starting, turn your camera off and your audio, so that your presence doesn't distract the students in attendance.
