


Retiree Permits
General Information:
Individuals who have retired from EWU are extended the benefit of free parking when visiting the campus. These permits are presented to you in appreciation of your many years of dedicated service at Eastern Washington University.
You are invited you use your permit anytime you wish to visit the campus, with the exception of home football games and certain special events. Please note, the permit is not allowed to be used by a spouse, child or relative who is regularly employed or is a student of the University.
How to Obtain, then Register, a Retiree Permit:
Contact Benefits Office to obtain the retiree benefit. Once you obtain the permission from Benefits Office to receive the benefit as a retiree, come to the Parking and Transportation Service’s office, 101 Tawanka, to register your vehicle(s). PTS enforces using License Plate Recognition technology. Please register any and all vehicles you may drive to campus. Please note, it is one permit per vehicle and only one vehicle at a time may park on campus.
Re-Employed Retirees:
If you are a re-employed by EWU, you can purchase a parking permit for half-price, based on availability.
Authorized Parking Areas:
You may park at any of the University parking lots; however, there are some unauthorized areas:
· Meters within the lots
· City meters on the streets
· Reserved spaces
· Fire lanes and safety zones
· Yellow curbs/zones
· Designated “no parking” areas
· Parking within 16 feet of a building
· Residential Hall Parking lots; AM, TH, RH and Brewster Hall (DH)
· Special Event Parking
ADA Parking:
If you currently have a state disabled placard, you may use the EWU ADA designated stalls within the University’s lots as long as both your state placard and EWU retiree permit are valid and registered with the Parking and Transportation Service’s office.
