Michelle Abunaja

Congratulations to Michelle Abunaja, EWU McNair Scholars' Program alum, for receiving the prestigious American Public Transportation Foundation Richard J Bouchard AECOM Scholarship at the APTA conference in NYC! Michelle is pursuing her master's degree University of Washington in the department of Urban Design and Planning. She was nominated for the award by Susan Meyer, the CEO of Spokane Transit Authority. Last year, Michelle also received the Women in Transportation Puget Sound Rutherford scholarship from an organization dedicated to increasing conversation around concerns in transportation.

We are so pleased and proud of our McNair Scholars who are doing such great work and receiving recognition for their scholarly achievements. Well done, Michelle!

As a McNair Scholar, Michelle Abunaja worked on a summer research project with Dr. Kerry Brooks of the EWU Urban & Regional Planning Department.
