McNair Scholar, Lily Ann Long, Awarded the Len Stern Endowed Research Award

We are extremely pleased to announce that Lily Ann Long, Psychology Major and McNair Scholar (2018), has been awarded the Len Stern Endowed Research Award for her research in shame as a function of academic distress in a population of first-generation, low-income minority students.

The Leonard D. Stern Research Award Endowment was established by Dr. Jeffrey Joireman, a student of Dr. Stern’s, to honor the longstanding contribution and mentoring Dr. Stern offered students at EWU and to support and promote high quality undergraduate research that could ultimately lead the recipient to graduate school. This research will be completed during the 2019-2020 academic year with the mentorship of Dr. Ziehnert and Dr. Kolts, and will be funding her travel to the WPA conference in Spring 2020 where she will be lecturing on the findings of her research.

Congratulations, Lily Ann!
