
Congratulations to McNair Scholar Jules Amante! Jules has been accepted to the Wayne State University Master of Library and Information Science Program. Wayne State’s MLIS program provides customization of coursework to the student’s pathways, goals, and job activity or functional preferences.
Julianna (Jules) Amante graduated in fall of 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in history. Her research interests include Archives and the censorship of archival materials, accessibility to historical information by the public, and the effects of restricting information in the academic world. In 2023, Jules participated in the Northwest Regional Phi Alpha Theta (The National History Honor Society) Conference. In the spring of 2023, she interned at EWU in the Archives and Special Collections room to gain experience in her field of interest. Jules aims to attend graduate school for a double major in Library science and Public History with a focus on archives, and later a Ph.D. in Library Science. Jules’ research was presented August 15, 2024 at the McNair Summer Research Symposium.
