Scholar Presentation:
On Tuesday January 13, Amy Núñez presented her research experiment The Clark Doll Experiment: How Race/Ethnicity and Gender Influence the Perceptions of Pursuing College in Washington State. This study gathered data over two years from elementary schools around Washington State to emulate the Kenneth Clark Doll Experiment. Amy Núñez, McNair Scholar, used focus groups of parents, surveys of teachers, and interviews of Latino elementary students to assess perceptions of higher education, cultural competence, and self-efficacy to determine how race, ethnicity, and gender influence the pursuing of college in Washington State. Amy gave an insightful and informative presentation to a packed room of EWU’s students, faculty and staff.

The purpose of the CALE & CSBSSW Faculty Book Release is to celebrate and acknowledge the accomplishments of faculty in both Colleges. This month Dr. Edward Slack and Dr. Julie Neuffer will be presenting on their latest publication.
