It’s back again! The 5th annual Pie and Whiskey reading will be held Thursday, April 14th at the Spokane Woman’s Club. When I was at the event last year, it was so much fun. Nothing goes together like pie and whiskey. Homemade huckleberry, strawberry, blueberry pies, among too many more to name, and top-shelf whiskey, courtesy of local distillery Dry Fly. Pie and Whiskey co-founder Sam Ligon, author of the forthcoming novel Among the Dead and Dreaming and short-story collection Wonderland— both due out this year— returns to emcee, as does Kate Lebo, author of the cookbook Pie School. whose work also appears in 2015’s Best American Essays.
Stay tuned to Get Lit! on Facebook and Twitter for updates on 2016’s Pie and Whiskey lineup, which every year leaves the audience wanting more, just like the food and drink.
Get there early to grab a seat; it fills up fast. Last year was an amazing time, and this year’s lineup promises to be just as exciting. I know I will be there sipping my whiskey and trying to sneak every flavor of pie.
