Faculty Drop-In Hours for Questions on Budget Planning and Development
Faculty members, as you begin to outline and develop your upcoming budget plans for Fiscal Year 2025 budget requests, the Office of Academic Affairs & the Faculty Commons are here to support you. We are pleased to announce Faculty Budget Planning and Development Drop-In Hours at the Faculty Commons, providing an open and collegial space to ask or address any questions related to your current or upcoming budget plan along with any other budget and finance questions you may have.
Whether you need assistance understanding budget guidelines, planning assumptions, navigating resource allocations, or strategizing for your financial needs, we’re here to help. We’ll be prepared to assist you with:
• Budget Guidelines and Requirements: Understanding university planning assumptions, policies, and expectations for budget submissions.
• Strategic Resource Allocation: Identifying and prioritizing resources to align with departmental, college, and the university strategic plan.
• Forecasting and Planning: Projecting financial needs for instructional support, research initiatives, and program growth.
• Fund/Index-Level Management: Clarifying the specifics of managing budgets at the index level to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Expense Tracking and Reporting: Best practices for monitoring expenditures and preparing financial reports.
• Collaboration Across Units: Coordinating financial plans with colleges, departments, or administrative units.

• What to Bring: Questions…any budget of financial related questions, draft budget plans, budget ideas/initiatives.
