Connected Teaching While Socially Distant: “Maslow’s before Zooms”
April 24, Friday, 2-3 pm via Zoom by R. Keeth Matheny
Some of you may remember Keeth Matheny from his workshops on Social Emotional Learning at EWU back in January. Many thanks to our colleague Susan Ruby, Professor of Psychology and the generous offer from Keeth, we will be able to join a special session of Keeth’s webinar on Social Emotional Learning during COVID-19 pandemic for EWU faculty. Please see the attached flyer for details. Keeth is a model teacher, national trainer, and the 2015 recipient of the National Dropout Prevention Center’s Crystal Star Award for Excellence in supporting student success. His work has been featured in national webinars, magazine articles, and journals of best practices. Including recent articles in The Atlantic, Facebook Education, and EdWeek. One of his recent student graduates, formerly at risk for high school dropout and now attending Harvard, Daniel McCutchen provided an inspiring testament for the importance of SEL instruction in a TEDx Talk.
