The Office of Community Engagement will be hosting Kate Shuster from the Southern Poverty Law Center on Wednesday, January 21. She will be conducting an open lecture for students, staff and faculty on the history behind, results and impact of the 2014 study conducted by SPLC on Teaching Tolerance and Civil Rights education across the United States. We would like to invite you and your students to attend this lecture from 11:00 am-12:00 pmon Wednesday January 21 in the JFK auditorium.
Kate Shuster will also host a Civil Discourse in the Classroom and Beyond Workshop open to students, staff and faculty from 2:00-4:00 pm on Wednesday, January 21. The workshop will provide tools developed by the Southern Poverty Law Center to encourage engagement in civil discourse and to dialogue across difference.
