Satori Junior Camp

Satori Junio Summer Camp June 24-28, 2024

Eastern Washington University proudly welcomes back our highly regarded Satori Junior day camp. This camp is designed for young students aged 8 through 11 (entering 4th, 5th, or 6th grade) who have very inquiring minds and love to learn.

Satori Junior has been a very successful part of EWU summer offerings for over 30 years and has challenged its participants with various topics and activities. This year’s theme is Time Citizenry, where we will explore different cultures, traditions, and experiences throughout time. Students can learn about history, culture, and technology from across time periods, and work on projects that imagine the world if certain events had gone differently. Among the curricular choices for consideration, this June are: archaeology, linguistic exercises including Japanese paintbrush calligraphy, fine art projects, problem-solving, guest speakers, integrated outdoor activities, and puzzles/inquiry sessions that nurture higher-level thinking.

Satori Junior Camp will be held from June 24-June 28, 2024 from 8:30am through 2:30pm and will be housed on the campus of Libby Center at 2900 East 1st in Spokane.

Tuition for Satori Junior will be $295.00. Registration will be available in Spring 2024 and will be done online beginning April 5, 2024.  The last day to register for Satori Junior 2024 is June 7, 2024.

Embracing a theme rooted in creativity, puzzles, and problem-solving, this year’s exploration, titled “2050: What Will It Be For Me?” invites students to embark on a journey imagining the future they want to experience. Students will explore a series of essential questions including “What new inventions will there be?”, “What our daily lives be like?”, and “What might be some potential problems to avoid or solve?”
