Tips

1. Take the time to work with the Music Algorithms program in different browsers. You may find a preferred browser for this application.
2. Before launching your browser: check your volume settings on the computer.

Getting There

1. Go to http://musicalgorithms.ewu.edu/
2. From the main page click on “Compose” (the blue button).
3. From the list of Algorithms click on “Fibonacci Sequence.”
   • You will see an algorithm in four sections labeled: 1 Algorithm, 2 Pitch, 3 Duration, 4 Compose.  Each section represents a step or set of steps, to achieve a goal.

How to Hear the Pitches

1. A MIDI player will load momentarily.
2. Move the tempo slider up to 130 (more or less).
3. Optional: Choose a fun instrument patch from the drop-down menu.
4. Click play, and watch the piano keys light up in red as the numbers scroll over the top.
