This year, EWU partnered with the American Red Cross for their annual Sound the Alarm campaign. Every day, seven people die in home fires, most in homes that lack working smoke alarms. EWU volunteers and other Red Cross partners installed free smoke alarms, replaced batteries in existing alarms, and provided fire prevention and safety education for homes in the Spokane community.
