The inside outside circle is where the class is split in half and there is a big circle and a smaller circle on the inside where the students on the inside are facing the students on the outside circle and vice versa. The people on the inside stay in place and the people on the outside rotate to answer and discuss the teachers question s with new partners.
Popsicle sticks can be used as finding partners in class. Since some students may not always have a partner in a class this makes sure that every student is getting someone new to work with.
Some students have a hard time focusing on academics in the classroom and need a fidget tool. Research has proven by using a fidget device many students perform better academically and socially.
The Mesh and Marble Monkey Fidget tool is a great fidget toy for students of all ages. This toy helps students who have extra energy, students who constantly move around as well as students who battle high stress and anxiety levels. These toys help by promoting a sense of calmness, can reduce anxiety or stress and can increase focus in the classroom.
2 on a crayon gives students a minute for a brain break. It breaks up the day, lets the kids have some fun, brings calm into the classroom, and most importantly helps students work together.
During this strategy, students form two different circles: half of the group stands in a circle facing outward while the other half forms a circle around them facing inward, rotating whenever the teacher cues. Students in either circle have quick, one on one exchanges with different students in a short amount of time, which is good for trading tips, examples and information.
Popsicle Sticks are in a cup and each one has the student’s name on it in the class, which help to easily form groups. This supports students because forming groups is one less thing a student has to worry about. All students end up with a partner or will end up in groups smoothly and easily.
Recognition for good behavior is crucial to reinforcing the desired behavior, especially if a student often misbehaves. This tool is used on students that need that special attention when they’ve done something good. This will begin to motivate them internally and externally to behave better.
The Yacker Tracker looks like a stop light with green, yellow, and red lights to measure noise level in the classroom. This device is great for helping students maintain an appropriate level of noise during different tasks throughout the school day. When the classroom begins to get too loud, the tracker will flash red and begin buzzing to alert students that their noise level needs to be adjusted.
The Refrigerator Wall is a technique used to display the student’s work and/or achievement. This is helpful because it gives the students a sense of pride and belonging to see their work displayed to the class.
