The McNair Program, helps first generation and low-income students on a journey to pursue research and preparing them for graduate school with the support and guidance of McNair staff and faculty mentors. We encourage any student interested in graduate school and getting a Master’s or PhD, regardless of whether you think you are eligible or where you’re at in school, to complete the eligibility questionnaire and set up a meeting where we can share more information about preparing for graduate school. Being a McNair Scholar has numerous benefits including community, feedback on all graduate school application materials, guidance on seeking funding for graduate school, and a potential paid summer research internship.
