EWU is reminding students, faculty, staff and volunteers of recent developments with both the vaccine requirement and mask mandates.
In addition to the previous indoor masking protocols, Gov. Jay Inslee is now requiring face coverings for outdoor gatherings involving more than 500 people starting Monday, Sept. 13. Visit Eastern’s Risk Management website for full details.
Higher education employees are also reminded of Proclamation 21-14.1, which requires all employees and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Monday, Oct. 18. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated 14 days following their last dose of Pfizer or Moderna, or 14 days following their single dose of Johnson & Johnson. (Please see table below.)
Students must complete the Med+Proctor vaccination documentation or exemption request by Sept. 15 or they will be assessed a $250 fine.
Employees are required to upload their COVID-19 vaccination records into Med+Proctor per EWU policy. Please contact Stephanie Bradley in HR for Med+Proctor assistance at firstname.lastname@example.org or 509.359.6790. Employees who are unable to get vaccinated because of a disability or sincerely held religious belief may request a medical or religious waiver.
- Medical waiver requests may be obtained here. Completed medical waiver requests and accompanying medical certification must be submitted to Human Resources at email@example.com or 314 Showalter Hall for review and approval.
- Religious waiver requests may be obtained and submitted here for review and approval.
Employees should not request a waiver in Med+Proctor. Employees who have already submitted a waiver through Med+Proctor do not need to request a new waiver.
Per the Governor’s proclamation, any employee who has not been timely in submitting their COVID immunization records or obtained an approved medical/religious waiver will not be permitted to work effective beginning Tuesday, Oct.19.
Remember, individuals are considered fully vaccinated 14 days following their last dose of Pfizer or Moderna, or 14 days following their single dose of Johnson & Johnson. Here are the timelines for the different vaccines.
