EWU McNair Scholar Alice Chamberlin has been accepted into a summer research internship at UCLA for Summer 2026, a prestigious opportunity that reflects her outstanding academic achievements and dedication to scientific research.
Alice Chamberlin is an Honors student majoring in Biochemistry, a member of the Dean’s List, and an active participant in EWU’s Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement (MESA) program. Beyond her coursework, Chamberlin is also a committed member of the STEM Student Senate, where she advocates for student voices in STEM.
Chamberlin was accepted into the EWU TRIO McNair Program in 2025, a program that prepares first-generation and underrepresented undergraduate students for doctoral study. That same year, she was also accepted into Penn State’s Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP), a competitive initiative run by the Big Ten Academic Alliance universities to increase the pursuit of graduate studies and research careers by underrepresented students. She completed her summer research at Penn State in 2025, gaining hands-on experience that has further fueled her passion for scientific inquiry.
Her research interests span environmental chemistry and medical research, and she plans to pursue a graduate degree in chemistry following graduation. Her acceptance to UCLA this summer is a testament to the strength of her academic record and the breadth of her research experience. We are incredibly proud of Alice and look forward to seeing the contributions she will make at UCLA and beyond. Congratulations, Alice!
