Learn independently online using CashCourse or make an appointment for individual financial wellness coaching, because financial wellness isn’t just about money – it’s about freedom, confidence, and creating the life you want.

CWS offers one-on-one financial support through our Financial Wellness Coaching program. Meet with a Certified Personal Finance Counselor or a Certified Peer Mentor in Personal Finance to get support with creating and maintaining your budget, planning and saving for the future, and building your financial wellness skills.

Meet The Staff

Tom Klaameyer, CPFC®

Financial Literacy Coordinator

Tom joins Eastern Washington University with extensive experience in education, leadership, and public service. A U.S. Air Force veteran and graduate of the University of Alaska, he spent his career in the Anchorage School District as a high school economics teacher and held leadership roles including Social Studies Department Chair, Economics Curriculum Committee Co-Chair, Athletic Director, and union president. He also served on the Anchorage Cops for Community Board and as a Public Education Health Trustee. Tom brings strong expertise in personal finance and a passion for student success to his role leading EWU’s Financial Wellness Program. He and his wife recently moved to Spokane to be closer to family and enjoy the Inland Northwest.

Eagle Career Network Financial Wellness Page

The Eagle Career Network is our online mentoring community that connects current EWU students with EWU alumni who are working professionals in their career area. EWU students have the opportunity to request support such as a resume review, a call to ask advice, or a day of job shadowing, and build ongoing relationships with the greater professional community.

Bursar’s Office

The Bursar’s Office assists students with making tuition payments, managing payment plans, refunding excess financial aid, setting up direct deposit, and answering billing questions. They also offer support for third-party reimbursements and guaranteed tuition plans, ensuring a seamless and positive financial experience for EWU students and their families.

Basic Needs

Our Basic Needs Navigator helps connect students with EWU and community resources, providing support with basic needs such as housing, food, healthcare, and clothing. The Basic Needs Navigator can also help determine if a student is eligible for emergency financial assistance.
