Library instruction winter quarter 2017

Hello CSS Faculty,

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great holiday season. I enjoyed collaborating with all of you in the fall 2016 and look forward to a productive winter quarter 2017, too.

As your library liaison, I would like to remind you that library offers many services to support your students’ learning needs, including course-related library instruction as well as individual research consultations. I believe that developing the information literacy skills of our students is absolutely critical for improving the quality of their research and educational experience at the EWU.

Therefore, I encourage you to contact me if you need library instruction for your class. I will be happy to partner with you and tailor my session to the subject matter of your course and/or to the specific needs of your students. I am also available to help your students with group assignments or individual research projects.

For upper-level and graduate-level courses, I will work with you to design a more advanced form of instruction covering complex, discipline-specific resources and search techniques. Your students will learn how to conduct a comprehensive literature search, select relevant resources and manage references.

I have created a Library Instruction page to streamline the process for requesting library instruction. Please use the link below to fill out the Instruction Request Form and I will do my best to accommodate your preferences.

I very much look forward to collaborating with each of you in 2017 to deliver a great learning experience to your students. You can reach me by email ldeng@ewu.edu or by phone 509-359-2333.

Warm regards,
Liya
