Kanopy – a new streaming media resource for your courses

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce a fantastic media resource the JFK library recently subscribed to in order to support the EWU curricula. Kanopy, as a digital media, offers a new opportunity for interaction with subject matter and provides a tool for you to engage students in the classroom. You can locate hundreds of online videos that are educational or historically important. Here is a brief description of this wonderful online media database. “Kanopy is a multidisciplinary streaming video collection that provides students and faculty with access to more than 26,000 films each year. Kanopy works directly with filmmakers and film distribution companies to offer award-winning collections including titles from PBS, BBC, Criterion Collection, Media Education Foundation and more.”

Please review the following PDF document, courtesy of the University of Oregon Libraries, that explains how to add a Kanopy video to Canvas:

Kanopy could be a great addition for your flipped classroom, too! Please enjoy surfing this streaming videos database and have fun! Link to the Kanopy database.
