“I am a conservation biologist and carnivore ecologist currently working as a postdoc at the University of California, Berkeley and the California Academy of Sciences. My research interests include human-wildlife conflict, movement ecology, multidisciplinary mapping, and using participatory methods for more effective, equitable, and inclusive conservation outcomes.
Before attending UC Berkeley, I spent several years working in conservation biology and natural resource management around the USA and in East Africa. I was also an informal educator, piloting and implementing programs for teens and young adults at the California Academy of Sciences and in Uganda. My experiences as an educator have developed in me a passion for conducting applied participatory research and for empowering community-created solutions to pressing conservation challenges.
In 2020, I co-founded Black Mammalogists Week. For more general information regarding Black Mammalogists Week, please visit our

Follow me on TikTok or Instagram for the Queer is Natural series & other science-related stories.”
