You don’t have to choose between your education and your recovery.

Eagles for Recovery is a supportive community at EWU for students who are in recovery, considering recovery, or allies of those in recovery. This program is designed to foster meaningful social connections and provide support as you navigate both college life and your recovery journey.

Eagles for Recovery hosts weekly drop-in hours in our Recovery Lounge located in Showalter 118.

The lounge is open for students to hang out, play games, watch tv, learn about recovery or harm reduction, get support, and build community.

Services

Eagles for Recovery hosts weekly Peer Recovery Meetings for students seeking peer support and community with their recovery. These meetings are guided by the participants to ensure the comfort and safety of those who are involved.

Eagles for Recovery host many sober events and activities throughout the school year. Keep up to date with us on EagleSync for upcoming events.

Recovery coaching is a one-on-one service for students who are struggling or would like support in their recovery, students who want to be safer with their use, and/or students who would like to stop use all together. All recovery coaches have been through a certified training program, and students can choose between professional staff or peer support.

Opioid Overdose Prevention training is offered monthly at EWU Cheney campus during the school year, and it can be requested for individual departments, clubs, or groups. Naloxone is provided to all who attend. Naloxone can also be picked up at the Eagles for Recovery lounge or at tabling events.

Deterra Prescription Drug Destruction Packs are available in the Eagles for Recovery lounge or at tabling events. Deterra is a pack that individuals can put any medications that are no longer in use inside, fill with water, seal, and throw away.

Alcohol and drug education and events are available upon request. Please reach out to recovery@ewu.edu if you have any questions.

Recovery Ally Trainings occur once a quarter and upon request. Recovery Ally Training educates on addiction, recovery, and how to support those in recovery.

Eagles for Recovery has a lounge in Showalter 118. This is a safe, sober space for all students (you do not have to identify with recovery). We have free snacks, board games, arts & crafts, and big TV with a Nintendo Switch for anyone to enjoy!
