What are the effort surveys and who completes them?

Effort surveys are online forms and spreadsheets that provide a percent estimate of how much time employees spend working on each function they perform for a program or service. So, for example, a department chair might spend 15% of their time teaching, 10% of their time advising students, 20% of their time on enrollment administration, 15% of their time in university service, etc. (total must be exactly 100%), then those costs can be attributed to the right areas in the data. The final version depends on what data the task forces ask for and how costs will be allocated.

The distribution and submission process are still in development. Campus feedback is not solicited on drafts of the effort surveys.

This KB item will be updated once more effort survey information is available.
