A native Washingtonian, I began work as a Longshoreman and Teamster in Bellingham and Seattle. After earning the PhD far away, I am grateful to be home.
Grateful also to treasure the teaching, the students that make it so rewarding, and the support for public writing and research.
As a writer, I am interested in the interdisciplinary environmental humanities, and particularly in how creative writing and culture studies can nourish one another.
