EWU at BC students are invited to a celebration to honor them on Bellevue College Campus

June 18th, 2024 at 6:30pm

Students may bring guests to this informal celebration.

We will have light refreshments and a photographer will be available to take your picture with your family and friends.

More Information

The celebration will be Tuesday June 18th in the Cafeteria (C building) on Bellevue College campus.

Doors will open at 5:30 and there will be a ceremony lasting about one hour starting at 6:30pm, including individually recognizing the graduates in attendance. We will have some light snacks.

Afterward there will be a photographer available to take pictures of students and their guests if desired. We will have regalia there to borrow for photos. We also do intend to make the event available to watch via zoom.

Caps and gowns are not required for the informal celebration in Bellevue.

You may purchase them if you would like. See the EWU University Bookstore for more information.

Caps and gowns are required for the official EWU Commencement Ceremony in Spokane- purchase in advance!

Parking is available with a Bellevue College parking pass. Guests may also purchase a one-day parking pass for $2 from meters in Lot 12 and 16, on the 5th floor parking garage, or in room B132. Find more information on the campus map here.

Q: Do I need to purchase tickets for my guests?

A: No tickets required.  The 6:30 PM ceremony will not limit the number of guests per student.

Q: What time should students arrive?

A: Student check-in begins at 5:30 PM. Guests with ADA or mobility restrictions will be allowed to enter prior to 5:30 PM

Q: How do I know if I am eligible to graduate with Honors?

A: Honors are calculated on college-level credits earned at this institution and for students who are first time undergraduates. The following designations apply:

Graduating seniors with a GPA between

  • 3.5 and 3.69 = Cum laude
  • 3.7 and 3.89 = Magna cum laude
  • 3.9 and 4.0 = Summa cum laude

Q: Where do I purchase Honor cords?

A: Regalia is not expected at this informal celebration. However, if you wish to purchase honor cords, they can only be purchased at the EWU Bookstore. You must be on the approved list to be able to make the purchase. Information about purchasing graduation regalia can be found on the Bookstore Website.

Q: Can I attend the main campus Commencement ceremony  as well?

A: YES, Students may attend the EWU ceremony in Spokane on June 17, 2023 as well as the EWU at BC graduation celebration. Review information about the Spokane ceremony here, or call the EWUBC office at 425-564-5100 for more information.
