This tool is used to give students all of the necessary materials that are needed for them to be successful and participate in the classroom. It is helpful because it supports the students and their learning by making it so they do not have to look to find the needed materials.
This tool should be used to help students so that they are prepared for assignments and anything else that is being taught to them that they would need materials for. Some important elements to keep in mind is that all student tubs need to be filled with the same type of materials like pens, pencils, colored pencils, markers, erasers and so forth. I have had experience with this tool in my placement and my mentor teacher uses it as a way to assist her students because a lot of our students can not afford school supplies, so by giving each table these student tubs, students do not have to feel different and everyone gets the same kind of materials without causing problems, while also giving each students the opportunity to succeed.
I placed this tool in the phase of support because it helps support students in their learning and helps support students who can not afford school supplies. This strategy also can fit into prevention because you as the teacher are preventing students from getting up from their seats to go get a pencil or eraser or any other type of supplies. So by doing the student tubs, you are also eliminating distractions and interruptions. This tool also fits more in the students' centers because they are the ones grabbing the appropriate supply for them so that they can learn best, while also learning to share supplies.
