Staying Current with BrowZine

BrowZine is available for Eastern Students, faculty and staff.

The JFK Library subscribes to BrowZine, a service that allows you to browse, read and follow thousands of scholarly journals available from the EWU Libraries or from open sources on your computer, your tablet devise (Android tablets [Google Nexus and Samsung Galaxy], Kindle Fire HD), iPhone, iPad, Android Phone or via the Web.

Please explore BrowZine http://browzine.com/libraries/1371/subjects

BrowZine allows you to:

  • Access thousands of scholarly journals anywhere you have WiFi access.
  • Scan tables of contents and read articles directly from the app.
  • Create a personal library of up to 64 favorite journals for easy access on your BrowZine interface.
  • Get alerts as new issues are available (iOS and Android).
  • Save articles on your mobile device to read later even when you are off line.
  • Request the article using InterLibrary Loan Service (ILL) when the full text of an article is not available.

BrowZine currently has agreements with a wide range of scholarly publishers but not all the library subscribed journals are accessible via BrowZine. Please note, BrowZine only includes scholarly journals and not popular magazines or newspapers.

You can use BrowZine without registering if you want to browse journals by title or subject. Create an account to save journals to a bookshelf and see alerts when new issues are published.

Using BrowZine keeps you up to date on current research in your discipline without having to carry around paper journals or track publications individually online. In addition, you may get an overview of current research available in the journal format including articles you might miss using a focused online search. Plus, enjoy the freedom of access to scholarly journals on a mobile device.

However, the BrowZine interface only displays recent issues of journals and it does not include a function for searching within or across journals.
Mobile version: Download the app to your iPad, iPhone, or Android device from the App Store, Google Play, or Amazon (Android only). When you open BrowZine for the first time, you’ll see a list of schools – select Eastern Washington University, then enter your NetID and password.
