Library Opportunities for Faculty and Students Winter 2018

Dear faculty,

I hope this winter quarter is off to a good start for you.

I am writing to highlight a few library resources and services that the JFK library offers to you and your students. First, we are always happy to provide research instruction and support for your courses. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you’d like to schedule subject-specific information literacy instruction for your class(es).

Also, please feel free to refer your students to me if you feel they may need additional help from the Subject Librarian. If you share my contact information with them, I will be happy to set up individual or group research consultations to go over any questions your students may have about library resources to complete their course assignments or other research projects.

Additionally, the library is looking for opportunities to expand our collections that support your departmental and program needs. Therefore, I’d like to encourage you to submit purchase recommendations or collections requests via the following link: https://www.ewu.edu/library/resources/suggest-a-purchase.

Finally, I wanted to draw your attention to a great resource we’ve recently subscribed to, BrowZine. BrowZine is a service that allows you to browse, read and follow thousands of scholarly journals available from the EWU Libraries or from open sources on your computer. You even have an option to download the app to your mobile device and enjoy access to all the current scholarship from the selected journals in your discipline right at your fingertips.

I look forward to working more closely with you in 2018.
