Library Offerings and Updates – Fall 2021

Dear Faculty,

Welcome to the Fall quarter 2021! As your department librarian liaison, I wanted to touch base with you early to send you some updates.

Depending upon your class structures this quarter, I would be happy to teach library instruction sessions for your courses face to face, or synchronously online through Zoom. I can also design library resource guides for your course assignments that are tailored to your students’ specific research needs. Do not hesitate to reach out to me for any library instruction support you may need! If you would like to schedule a face to face synchronous instruction session with me, I encourage you to do so at your earliest convenience to ensure library classroom availability.

Also, please feel free to encourage your students to contact me directly for an individual research consultation.

In addition, I would like to mention that the library has recently designed a topic-specific workshop focusing on the new version of the APA citation style. This APA workshop includes two sessions: one is about formatting in-text citations and references, and the other session focuses on formatting student papers.

The workshop is highly interactive as we have built in extensive hands-on practice time with immediate feedback from the librarian. Please contact me if you are interested in this newly-designed library offering, and I will be happy to provide more details on how your students can participate.

Finally, I would like to conclude my traditional message by assuring you that the library is here to help your students succeed at Eastern.

I hope that you all have a wonderful start to the quarter – and please stay safe and well.

Truly,

Liya
