JFK Library Greetings – Fall 2020

Dear Faculty,

Hope you all have had a good summer break. I would like to keep you informed that while the JFK building is temporarily closed in response to the COVID-19 situation, many library services are available online. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions on the availability of library resources.

As Fall quarter is approaching, we find ourselves in the most unusual and challenging circumstances. Although you and your students may not be able to physically visit the JFK Library or have instruction sessions in our library classroom, you are welcome to reach out to me for any library services and resources you may need to support your students.

While we may not be able to partner together in a physical classroom, I am here to support information literacy/library research instruction online. I teach asynchronously or synchronously depending on the class needs and what works best for the learning goals. Regarding synchronous instruction, I will be happy to provide general or subject-specific library sessions via Zoom for your classes. Please contact me directly or feel free to use the following link to submit the instruction request. Both ways will work fine for me.

Please also encourage your students to contact me directly for an individual research consultation.

Additionally, I would like to share with you a library page titled Access to Resources during Building Closure. This page includes information on library curbside pick-up service, online reference service, interlibrary loan (ILL) service, and more. Please visit this page to learn about any changes or updates in the library operations.

Finally, here are two contacts you might find helpful and convenient for questions about checking out library materials and ILL service.

JFK Library (Cheney): 509.359.7888 or circulation@ewu.edu
Interlibrary Loan (Cheney): 509.359.2492 or ewuill@ewu.edu or see this ILL Services Guide.

Thank you and look forward to working with you in the upcoming year.

Yours truly,

Liya
