Library support for undergraduates – Literature Review Email Challenge

Dear Faculty,

I have created a Literature Review Challenge that can be particularly relevant for undergraduate students in Health & Social Sciences. I would like to work with you if your class has a literature review assignment. I would send your students a series of email challenges throughout one week of the class where each challenge would ask them to complete an information literacy related task focusing on locating and using library resources for their literature searches.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if your classes have a literature review assignment and you are interested to collaborate with me on this project, and we can discuss how we might implement it. I hope this project might make the literature search process less stressful for your students.

Once again, if you are interested in this project, please contact me directly and I will be happy to share more information.

Project Description:
“This Literature Review Challenge includes tools and strategies to help you take your literature searching to the next level. The activities are presented as daily “challenges” that participants might accomplish over the course of one week. However, each activity stands alone and can be completed separately from the others and at a time that is convenient.”

“Each day, for five days, you will engage with brief tasks designed to help you make the most of your literature review process, including defining your topic, forming and refining your research question, strategically searching for scholarly literature directly relevant to your chosen topic/research question, understanding the nature of peer-reviewed articles, organizing and synthesizing ideas between sources, and easily creating bibliographies in the citation style of your choice.”

Thanks,

Liya
