Community Trends Projects

The Institute publishes seven community trend sites for nine Washington counties. All these sites cover a variety of categories for important community trends as well as community-specific trends.

Benton-Franklin Trends

Benton-Franklin Trends is a community trends project active since 2014 that serves two Washington counties, Benton County and Franklin County, covering the Tri-Cities (Kennewick, Richland, Pasco), Prosser, Connell, and more. The site contains 181 indicators, addresses a community of 312,050 people, and is sponsored by Columbia Basin College, Washington State University Tri-Cities, Benton Franklin United Way, and more.

Chelan-Douglas Trends

Chelan-Douglas Trends is a community trends project active since 2008 that serves two Washington counties, Chelan County and Douglas County, covering Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Leavenworth, Bridgeport, and more. The site contains 158 indicators, addresses a community of 124,650 people, and is sponsored by the Regional Port Authority of Chelan & Douglas Counties, North Central Washington Community Foundation, North Central Washington Economic Development District, and more.

Grant County Trends

Grant County Trends is a community trends project active since 2010 that serves Grant County, covering Moses Lake, Ephrata, Grand Coulee, Quincy, and more. The site contains 148 indicators, addresses a community of 101,800 people, and is sponsored by Grant County Economic Development Council and the City of Moses Lake.

Walla Walla Trends

Northeast Washington Trends is an online community resource offering a centralized location to learn more about Ferry, Pend Oreille, and Stevens Counties. The site contains approximately 130 indicators, addresses a community of over 68,000 people.

Skagit County Trends

Skagit County Trends is a community trends project active since 2016 that serves Skagit County, covering Mount Vernon, Anacortes, Burlington, Sedro-Woolley, and more. The site contains 155 indicators, addresses a community of 131,250 people, and is sponsored by the Skagit Population Health Trust.

Spokane Trends

Spokane Trends is a community trends project active since 2006 that serves Spokane County, covering Spokane, Spokane Valley, Cheney, Liberty Lake, and more. The site contains 192 indicators, addresses a community of 542,100 people, and is sponsored by the City of Spokane and the Innovia Foundation.

Walla Walla Trends

Walla Walla Trends is a community trends project active since 2007 that serves Walla Walla County, covering Walla Walla, College Place, Waitsburg, Touchet, and more. The site contains 132 indicators, addresses a community of 62,625 people, and is sponsored by the Port of Walla Walla.

Walla Walla Trends

Whitman County Trends is a community trends project active since 2024 that serves Walla Whitman County, the City of Colfax, The City of Pullman, and more. The site contains over 90 indicators, addresses a community of 48,000 people, and is sponsored by the Port of Whitman County.

Yakima Valley Trends

Yakima Valley Trends is a community trends project active since 2017 that serves Yakima County, covering Yakima, Union Gap, Sunnyside, Toppenish, and more. The site contains 139 indicators, addresses a community of 259,950 people, and is sponsored by the Yakima Valley Community Foundation, the Yakima Valley Economic Development Council, and the Yakima County Council of Governments.
