Illuminations: Miniature Books with Mel Hewitt of LibroBuch Highlights from the Archives and Special Collections
Thu, November 21 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Drop in and peruse rare treasures from Central Library’s archives. This month’s theme showcases miniature books and will feature bookbinder Mel Hewitt of LibroBuch!
Archivist & Special Collections Librarian Dana Bronson and local novelist & Writing Education Specialist Sharma Shields share a passion for libraries, research, and critical archival work. Join them each month as they share exciting and often surprising items from the Central Library’s Archives and Special Collections. Highlighted items might include rare books and manuscripts, local records and photographs, and/or maps and correspondence.
This month we’ll showcase miniature books including a 1904 ed. of Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus, a royal miniature almanac from 1848, and The Smallest English Dictionary in the World, and many, many more.
