Combining the Personal and the Political: A Craft Class with Toni Jensen

March 23, 2023 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Combining the Personal and the Political: Weaving your Stories with the World’s News

We’re all influenced by political or topical news—whether as a source of inspiration or outrage. This craft workshop provides structures and advice on how to blend the news from the world into your own personal narratives. We’ll be guided by some of the following questions: What does it mean to blend our own stories with those of others? What does it mean to incorporate research or current events into the stories of our lives? We’ll wrestle with these questions, both their ethical and practical concerns, and explore ways in which creative nonfiction can look both inward and out at the broader world.

This is a ticketed event ($35 plus fees) capped at 35 attendees. Purchase your ticket here! *Tickets will go on sale Monday, March 20th at 8am.

*This class is located in Events B on the first floor of the Spokane Central Library.
