2026 Get Lit! FAQs
Q: Which events require tickets?
A: The following events require tickets:
- The Writer’s Memoir: $35 (plus taxes and fees)
- An Evening with Jess Walter and Willy Vlautin presented by Northwest Passages: prices vary and include options for VIP reception and signed copies of Willy’s novel. General admission tickets are $10 (and students get in free; email kristib@spokesman.com to reserve)
- This event is a collaboration between Get Lit! and Northwest Passages.
- Book Fair Preview $10 (plus taxes and fees)
- Craft Classes: all are $35 (plus taxes and fees)
Q: So the Book Fair is free this year? What about all of the events inside???
A: YES! Our Saturday Book Fair is completely free, and so are over a dozen events presented from 9-5pm at the Montvale Event Center! You do not need a ticket and can come and go as you please, but please note that many events have low capacity and so you may want to arrive early to guarantee a seat.
Q: I’m a student and would like to attend the festival for free. How can I get tickets?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot offer free tickets to either our Friday night headlining event or our Craft Classes. However, we will have a FREE livestream option for our Friday night event The Writer’s Memoir. We will include a link for folks to be able to tune in to that on the event description.
If you are a student from any local college or university, please email us to ask about scholarship opportunities. We do work with schools to offer opportunities for students to attend craft classes and other ticketed events at no charge.
Q: What about parking at events?
A: Most of our events are downtown and so attendees will need to use paid parking meters or paid lots. Please check parking rules at each venue before arriving.
Q: I’m visiting from out of town, where should I stay?
A: Visit Spokane offers a wonderful guide to downtown accommodations. We recommend the Montvale Hotel for excellent walk-ability to our Saturday hub the Montvale Event Center.
