This program provides a Master of Education as well as a residency teaching certificate in grades K-8 in Washington State. This program is recommended for candidates who hold a Bachelor’s degree in an area other than education, who are interested in entering the teaching profession.
Preadmissions Testing
The following must be completed for certification and the majority must be finished before admission to the MIT program:

Elementary Coursework
The path to Elementary Certification follows a cohort model. Coursework is completed in a designated sequence. Candidates must pass the WEST-E, NES, or ACTFL before they can begin student teaching.

Completion of bachelor’s degree and pre-admission testing (listed above)
At least a 3.0 GPA in last 90 quarter or 60 semester credits
Payment of $75 application fee
