Educational Leadership Programs
Our Educational Leadership Programs prepare candidates to be reflective leaders and collaborative professionals who listen, learn with intention, and lead with empathy and abundance for the improvement of learning and life experiences for all children, families, staff, and the communities they serve. Our programs engage our students in learning practices that will further develop their awareness, understanding, and implementation of values leadership, effective communication, diversity, inclusion, equity, and ethically informed decision making.
Educational Leadership Program Options
EWU’s Master’s of Educational Leadership (MEd) is designed for educators seeking advanced professional learning and training for positions in P-12 education and other professional settings. Our course of study includes a professional internship (120 hours) specific to the work setting of each candidate.
The Master of Education program is designed for candidates who currently hold a Teaching Certification and wish to earn recommendation for the Principal Certification in the State of Washington.
Candidates in this program complete core and specialization courses.
The Graduate Certificate is a graduate level program, designed for candidates who currently hold a Teaching Certification and wish to earn recommendation for the Principal Certification in the State of Washington.
Candidates in this program complete specialization courses only.
Our Doctorate in Educational Leadership program (EdD) examines the human, organizational, political, social and technical components of educational systems and institutions. Our doctoral candidates engage in and become contributors to socially-just leadership with the intention of transforming the practice of education at the local, state, regional, and national levels.
