September 16-18, 2026

What is it?
Summer Launch is a 3-day summer transition experience as part of the FAM program for new undergraduate students at EWU (First-Time-in-College & Transfers). It is coordinated by EWU’s JLR Multicultural Center in collaboration with campus and community partners.
Summer Launch encourages you to (1) Familiarize yourself with campus resources and the local community, (2) Affirm your dedication to your education and your reason for pursuing a degree, and (3) recognize that you Matter — your needs, your aspirations, your skills and talents all matter at EWU. Summer Launch participants are automatically signed up for the FAM program, which spans the whole school year.
What to expect:
- Early move-in
- Community building
- Exploration of campus and local resources
- Connection with staff mentors
- Personal development
- Team building
- Outdoor adventure

When is it?
Summer Launch 2026 will take place September 16-18, right before the start of fall quarter. It begins a couple days before regular move-in to on-campus housing, allowing you to beat the crowds, get settled, and start making connections.
How much does it cost?
Thanks to generous donors, volunteers, and campus partners, Summer Launch 2026 is FREE OF CHARGE! Summer Launch is hosted by the JLR Multicultural Center and is supported by many campus partners in order to cover the cost of early move-in, meals, swag items, outdoor activities, travel, and all supplies (all together, the cost of attendance per student is approximately $800).

Eligibility
In order to participate in Summer Launch, you must be a new undergraduate student at EWU. This includes:
- First-Time-in-College students (traditional freshmen and students who previously did Running Start)
- Transfer students
Students living off campus are welcome to participate.
