Assessment & Accreditation: About Us
Role of the Assessment Department
Under the leadership of Institutional Effectiveness, the Assessment department is providing guidance on setting meaningful, measurable, and manageable goals for both instructional and non-instructional units across campus.
Assessment is under the Institutional Effectiveness umbrella.
How We Provide Services
We identify ways to support the use of our Nuventive Improve database to track program learning outcomes. One-on-one meetings are available for follow-up on creating goals. Zoom drop-in support during finals week help with reporting, and Zoom links, dates, and times will be posted.
Our Impact and Contribution
We value the effectiveness of “closing the loop” with assessment efforts. We are here to help bridge broken relationships with “data” across all units and create a culture of assessment to ensure student success and completion, while aligning unit goals to the University’s Strategic Plan for Regional Accreditation efforts.
The Impact of Assessment Results on EWU?
Assessment results reveal challenges and triumphs to every instructional and non-instructional unit. The results don’t bring any detrimental decisions. They are used to pivot practices to align with the Strategic Plan and ensure we are providing belonging to our region of students.
Mission and Vision
Mission: To build strong connections that support programs, departments, and stakeholders in developing meaningful, measurable, and manageable goals. These goals align with EWU’s mission to “provide an inclusive, equitable, and transformative learning experience, driving the pursuit of knowledge with affordable academic excellence.”
Vision: To design comprehensive and thoughtful assessment plans that reinforce successful strategies and provide flexibility to adapt when approaches are less effective, ensuring student success on their journey toward graduation.
