Time Management Calculator

Our Time Management Calculator is designed to help you see exactly how your time is spent each week.

  1. Start with your credits. Enter the number of credits you’re taking this quarter. The calculator will estimate how much time to budget for class and study, based on the general guideline of 2–3 hours of study for every hour in class. You can adjust this depending on your workload, but we recommend using this as your starting point.
  2. Add in your other commitments. Include time for work, family, volunteering, internships, recreation, or other activities.
  3. Protect your sleep. The calculator defaults to 8 hours of sleep per night, and we strongly recommend keeping it that way. Rest is one of the most powerful tools for your academic success.
  4. Review and adjust. Look at your weekly breakdown. Are you overcommitted? Do you have enough time for rest, self-care, and social connection? Make small changes to help create a sustainable, healthy schedule.

Remember, time management is a skill you can build. Using tools like this can help you feel less overwhelmed, more prepared, and better able to enjoy your time as an Eagle while also meeting your goals.
