Willow Springs Books is a literary press housed in Eastern Washington University’s Inland Northwest Center for Writers in Spokane, Washington. Under the direction of poet Jonathan Johnson, students have the opportunity to engage with all aspects of the publishing process including reading manuscripts, design, marketing, and editing. Willow Springs Books cares deeply about the literary community and building relationships with other small presses, as well as collaborating with local bookstores and regional universities. Each Year, we publish on collection of short fiction selected from our Spokane Prize for Short Fiction, an anthology based on the Zodiac year. We have also published poetry chapbooks in the American Surrealist tradition under the auspices of the ACME Poetry Series. Starting in 2022, we started to publish one debut collection of poetry from a poet under the age of 35, selected from our Emma Howell Rising Poet Prize.
