Her Terrible Splendor by Aza Pace is the winner of the 2024 Emma Howell Rising Poet Prize!
“Circe does serve as a tutelary spirit and interlocutor, rising out of a book on a bedside table and into the rugged East Texas landscape to guide the poet’s reckoning with coming of age as a woman and an artist…With Her Terrible Splendor, Pace has fashioned a spellbinding and accomplished debut.”

Nightwatch by Mathew Goldberg is the winner of the 2024 Spokane Prize for Short Fiction!
“Mathew Goldberg’s new book has the vivid, precise language we expect of a poet, but the author also knows how to create complex and compelling narratives. Add to this mix Goldberg’s memorable dialogue and the result is that rare alchemy that only the best short story writers achieve. Night Watch is a marvelous collection, one of the best I’ve read in a long while.”
