The Student Research and Creative Works Symposium will take place April 13 and 14, 2026.

On Monday, April 13, we’ll have the celebration of fine arts in the late afternoon and evening. Poster sessions and oral presentations will take place during the day of Tuesday, April 14. All events will be at our main campus in Cheney at the Art Lobby and the PUB NCR; if you need to attend virtually, please reach out to us at symposium@ewu.edu after you submit your abstract.

Don’t forget — the Celebration of Scholarly Works event for semester students will be joining this event.

Presentation Type*

Posters, Oral Presentations, and Interactive Presentations are based on research or service-learning. Creative Works include a musical composition, a work of art, a short film, etc.

Interactive presentations serve to give the audience a more hands-on view of the research. This presentation type requires a tangible research subject to be displayed and demonstrated for the audience (previous submissions have included wind machine blades, solar panels, computer games, and original instrument design and performance). These sessions are set up directly between faculty mentors and the Symposium Office. If your mentor has not pre-approved you to sign up under this presentation type, you will be reassigned to an oral or poster presentation (as appropriate).
