Hi Eags! I’m Dr. Samantha Armstrong Ash (Sam), and I serve as your Dean of Students and Associate Vice President for Student Wellbeing and Support Services here at Eastern Washington University. My role is all about helping you thrive—academically, personally, and everywhere in between. Whether you’re facing a challenge, looking for ways to get involved, or just need someone to talk things through, my door (and inbox) is always open.

I work alongside amazing staff and faculty to support your success and build a campus community where you feel seen, supported, and empowered. From mental health and basic needs to student conduct and advocacy, my team is here to make sure you’re never navigating this journey alone.

Hello! I’m Micah Bockstruck Martinez, and I serve as the Assistant Dean of Student and Faculty Initiatives in the Dean of Students Office here at Eastern Washington University. In my role, I am dedicated to fostering strong partnerships between students, faculty, and Student Affairs, supporting both groups as they work toward their goals, overcome challenges, and enhance their overall university experience.

As a proud second-generation alum of EWU, I have a deep understanding of the university community and its values. With over ten years of experience in supporting students across various institutions, I’m excited to continue making a positive impact here at Eastern.
