Partnering with the Easterner is a great way to help promote your organization’s opportunities. In addition to offering a ton of affordable and effective advertising options, they’re always looking for great stories about Eagles in the community. Connecting directly with a College or Academic Department is often a great way to broaden your reach and share your message on campus. Unfortunately, campus is big and finding the right people can be tough. Luckily, EWU publishes an Academic Deans and Chairs contact list each year that serves as a wonderful guiding light. We’ve provided a link to the document below.

If you’re still unsure who to contact or where to start, no worries! While we allow employers and faculty to coordinate classroom presentations or partnerships directly, the Career Center staff are more than happy to help you navigate these waters.

Thank you to our sponsor, Spokane Teachers Credit Union, for helping to make this possible!

Recruiting Best Practices

For more successful recruitment, keep the following in mind.

  • Familiarize yourself with NACE’s Principles for Professional Practice
  • Make sure your job description is clear, thorough, and straightforward. Students are savvy, and want to see lots of details.
  • For those looking to establish a long-term, on-campus brand, remember that repetition is key!
  • Try not to compare recent graduates to seasoned professionals,  their experience levels are apples and oranges
  • Think outside the box – postings and job fairs are popular options, but they are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to campus engagement.
