Accessibility Reporting

Eastern Washington University provides detailed accessibility reporting for both its websites and Canvas courses. These reports are powered by data from Ally (for Canvas) and PopeTech (for web content) and are hosted within the Tableau Server environment.

While these reports are available to everyone at EWU, you will need to be logged into Tableau with your EWU account. If you are new to Tableau, you may need to request access by completing the form available on the support page.

Canvas Course Reporting

Ally Report Dashboard – Ally is an accessibility evaluation tool used in Canvas to identify accessibility issues related to course content. This dashboard presents counts of each accessibility issue type identified by Ally to help highlight areas for improvement.

The data can be filtered by:

  • Term
  • College
  • Department
  • Course
  • Issue severity type

The dashboard also displays the total count for each item severity type.

Website Reporting

Popetech Report Dashboard – This report pulls data from PopeTech (WAVE), EWU’s website accessibility evaluation tool. The report displays counts of accessibility issue types, which can be filtered by:

  • Site domain
  • Site name
  • Issue type
  • Severity category
  • WCAG level

After selecting a specific area of a website, navigate to the Pages dashboard to view details about individual issues, or to the Definitions dashboard to learn why each issue is important and how to remediate it.

Using Tableau

Use the EWU guides about Tableau to find more information about Tableau or view the 5-min Mastery videos for an overview of navigating around the reports.
