Application Guidelines
Student requirements
EWU students in good standing with the university who have been accepted to participate in a professional organization’s conference, annual meeting, or other type of professional workshop are eligible to apply for travel awards. Applications should be submitted at least six weeks prior to the expected travel dates.
Award amounts
Maximum award amounts are up to $500 per student or $1,200 total for groups of three students or more. Please note that department and college support is required to receive the Provost’s Student Travel Award. Awards will be proportionate to the support offered by these units.
Students may apply more than once for travel awards, but priority will be given to first-time applicants.
It is expected that the student has also received financial support from their department and/or college. The Provost’s award will be up to $500 for individuals or $1,200 for groups, and will be proportionate with the amount of support offered by the student’s department and college.
Receiving Your Award
The student, advisor, department chair, and department support staff member will be notified as to the status of the application within two weeks of the date received by the Office of the Provost.
Students whose applications are approved will coordinate travel and funding through the administrative support person in their department/program.
