A life of that fuck-that<br>\nstalled on the track. Hat on one side,<br>\nbroken noggin with its go-<br>\nyour-own-way dream<br>\nbled out on the other.\nI catch your drift. To wake and stuff it<br>\ndown. To sleep as it opens out. Me<br>\nand my wire cutters; widening<br>\nthe fence hole. I know exactly<br>\nhow few snips will<br>\nget me through.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*\nWhite-hot, black-hard, the rails return<br>\nfor mister you and mister not-you-there<br>\non the path that leads to the path. Once<br>\nit fit your shoe. Blood-crust and blue-fly hum,<br>\nthe one who&#8217;s caught your whiff<br>\nslinks through the hole, stands<br>\nin the meadow. So like a wave,<br>\nthe track goes out and comes back. <em>REAL<br>\n<\/em><em>ON STEEL<\/em> claims the freight car<br>\nclanging into the by and bye.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alive at the End of the World<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>(Gnome with Ax)\nSand and the glue from dead horses<br>\nmade me. . .so you&#8217;d know me. Thirteen<br>\nseconds in a store window-you see<br>\nI&#8217;m you rowing away in a rogue dream.\nGive me the full brunt of sun<br>\non your door stoop. Make me<br>\n|the stopper atop the lower city<br>\nwith its brute animal wails<br>\nI&#8217;ll hear for you, loudly so.\nOne day you won&#8217;t have a mind<br>\nto change anymore<br>\nabout where I&#8217;ll live on, or how,<br>\nwithout you.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Because B<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\nYour arrival, admit it, was up<br>\nand out of the mud. So what,<br>\nhere you are. One four o&#8217;clock<br>\nyou walk across the lake.<br>\nIts ice creaks: gut syllables,<br>\nlingo between fish and fowl.\nYou&#8217;d refused the skates because<br>\nA) surely then you&#8217;d have to<br>\nperform a spin, and B) they could<br><em>hurt<\/em> the ice. You its executioner,<br>\nyou the handle turning the blade.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Last Address<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\nWhat gold flitter has made of your ear<br>\na hive? Clouds tug loose a last dream\nand now the rainfall bears down<br>\nyour secrets. The question&#8217;s not\nif the river had its way with you,<br>\nspit you out as a small inquiry\nunfit for the big answer. No,<br>\nthe question won&#8217;t pertain to tattoos\nor unmatchable DNA, but to what<br>\nworld, under what sun, in what situ\nwe go on finding each you, each you,<br>\nthe not-missed, the never missing.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>* We stand at the foot of you.<br> Bees and swallows rustle the grass around half flesh, half bone, half<br> here, half gone. Dot of earth: nothing owed or owned. Once you were a bud<br> in someone&#8217;s belly. A swim, a sleep, then to crown your way out. Keep<br> mum. Keep it to yourself, Little Prince of the Reigning Question,<br> the would-you-do-it-all-again<br> there there, now now. <strong> Found on the bank of the<br> Spokane River at approximately<br> 2200 W. Falls Street.&nbsp;<\/strong>Adult<br> Caucasian male. This male was 5<br> feet 11 inches in height and<br> weighed approximately 161<br> pounds. His hair was dark brown<br> or possibly black.
